Founded in 1974 by Ben Benjamin, the Muscular Therapy Institute trains students in the Benjamin System of Muscular Therapy which is a unique combination of massage treatment, basic exercise, and education designed to reduce chronic muscle tension and promote physical health. The Muscular Therapy Institute is conveniently located in North Cambridge in a former high school. The building has three floors including 5 large classrooms, a student lounge, private lesson rooms, faculty and administrative offices, a therapy center, and reception areas for clinic clients. The learning environment at the Muscular Therapy Institute extends beyond the physical plant to the spirit and integrity of the training.
